RTK on UAS?

RTK (Real Time Kinematic) drones allow drone professionals to achieve centimeter position accuracy on each flight. RTK technology is a precise satellite positioning technique that provides results to the nearest centimeter and is a very effective tool for surveyors for example.

 

The calculation method takes into account GPS data from the drone and data from a ground station to get an accurate location in real time with centimeter accuracy.

Rapid deployment

With the geo referencing of images done during shooting thanks to the RTK, the post-flight processing time is significantly reduced. In a single operation, the data are recorded and stored in the national reference system.

 

The integration of GPS RTK and the latest generation of inertial units combined with GNSS corrections generated via the Orphéon network allows rapid implementation and simplified deployment, since they make it possible to overcome a second GNSS receiver (base) throughout the territory.

 

These same corrections, provided by the Orphéon network, also make it possible to facilitate the processing of data or images in real time or in post-processing.As a result, the professional reports generated are of better quality.

Why have a drone with dual RTK?

 

At Innovadrone, we offer an optional 2nd GPS RTK mat on our Surveyor drone. Why is that? Having a 2nd MAT GPS RTK allows you to know exactly the orientation of the drone in space.

 

In addition, near high-voltage lines with the effect of strong electro-magnetic radiation, where a magnetometer would be disturbed, RTK GPS are not impacted in any way.

 

Also, when taking off from a reinforced concrete surface, the magnetometer system cannot allow the drone to take off due to interference.
